Top 5 Keyboards in 2019

In our previous articles we have talked about all kinds of different computer configurations that you can make but no computer, no matter how good, is good enough with a decent keyboard. Whether you are a writer, a gamer or you simply want to browse the internet for memes, you are going to need a keyboard and sometimes, finding a perfect one that will suit your needs might be a difficult task to accomplish.

In order to help you choose a perfect keyboard for your needs, we are providing you with a list of top five keyboards that you can purchase in 2019. This list will feature something for everybody including the best budget keyboard that you can get your hands on. Keep in mind that this is our top five picks and that your opinion may greatly differ from ours. With all that out of the way, let’s get right into it.

1. HyperX Alloy Elite

HyperX Alloy Elite is arguably considered to be one of the best, if not the best gaming keyboard currently available on the market and perhaps rightfully so, considering that it comes with everything that a good gaming keyboard should have. What this keyboard has particularly going for it is the fact that is it comes with a great set of features and is relatively affordable, however, it does come with a few issues that some people might find particularly problematic. The backlight for the keyboard comes only in red and there are no RGB options which some users might find very annoying if the keyboard does not match their computer LED or other peripherals. Nevertheless, if you can look past the fact that it is forever going to be illuminated in red, you can purchase this great keyboard for around $150.

Specifications:

  • Switch: Cherry MX Blue, Brown, Red
  • Size: Full size
  • Backlights: Red
  • Passthroughs: USB
  • Media Controls: Dedicated
  • Wristrest: Detachable
  • You can purchase this keyboard here.

2. Corsair K95 RGB Platinum

For our second place we have chosen to go with the Corsair K95 RGB Platinum which can be considered better than our previous entry but then again, this keyboard comes at a higher price which kind of balances the whole thing out.

Corsair K95 RGB Platinum is a very high-quality keyboard which comes with all the features and bells and whistles that you would expect from a high-end gaming keyboard with a superb building quality and an extra set of keycaps being just a couple of them. While its performance is beyond satisfactory, there are a couple of things which might make gamers look away from it. Namely, the price tag is the main one with a large footprint of it coming in close second. Purchasing this keyboard will set you back around $200.

Specifications:

  • Switch: Cherry MX Speed, Brown
  • Size: Full size
  • Backlights: RGB
  • Passthroughs: USB
  • Media Controls: Dedicated
  • Wristrest: Detachable

3. Logitech K840

Our third spot is dedicated to a keyboard which we consider to be a fantastic gaming keyboard that comes at a low price. We are of course talking about Logitech K840 which considering the price of it, looks extremely well and performs even better.

However, since it is essentially a budget keyboard, it does have its own set of problems. No backlights and pass-throughs are just to name a few and while it does come with a very durable aluminum front plate, it also comes with shoddy pad-printed keycaps. Overall, it is a good budget gaming keyboard but it’s not something to brag about. You can purchase Logitech K840 for around $55.

Specifications:

  • Switch: Logitech Romer-G
  • Size: Full size
  • Backlights: No
  • Passthroughs: No
  • Media Controls: Function key integrated
  • Wristrest: No

4. Razer BlackWidow Elite

Our fourth spot belongs to Razer BlackWidow Elite which Is a beautifully designed gaming keyboard that comes with all the accessories that you would want to have, unfortunately, it also comes with a bit higher price tag.

Razer BlackWidow Elite is a large fully featured keyboard that comes with dedicated media controls and a very sturdy industrial design. It also comes with a 3.5 mm passthrough which is always handy if you are using or testing headsets at your desk.

The only negative that we could attribute to this keyboard other than the price tag, of course, is the big cumbersome cables that it comes with. If you are a fan of Razer merchandise and you want to buy this keyboard, it will cost you around $170.

Specifications:

  • Switch: Razer Green, Orange, or Yellow
  • Size: Full size
  • Backlights: RGB
  • Passthroughs: Yes
  • Media Controls: Dedicated
  • Wristrest: Yes
  • You can purchase Razer BlackWidow Elite keyboard here.

5. Das Keyboard 4 Professional

Our final pick is sure to excite all of you writers and typing enthusiasts because this keyboard is considered to be a perfect typist’s best friend. The keyboard that we are talking about is Das Keyboard 4 Professional and if you take a good look at it, you will immediately notice that it has a great stylish design with a thick alloy faceplate.

It also comes with a very comfortable volume knob which is very satisfying to use and it comes with a USB passthrough which makes it very easy to plug in a controller if you want to take a break from typing and want to enjoy a quick session of your favorite video game. While this keyboard has a lot going for it, we need to point out that the magnetic foot bar provides very little traction which may be an issue to some users. If you can look past that and wish to get your hands on Das Keyboard 4 Professional, buying it will set you back around $170.

Specifications:

  • Switch: Cherry MX Blue, Brown
  • Size: Full size
  • Backlights: No
  • Passthroughs: USB
  • Media Controls: Dedicated
  • Wristrest: No
